Woman Completes 200 Marathons in 200 Days for Charity!

Endurance runner Megan Boxall has embarked on an inspiring journey to become the fastest woman to traverse the entire coastline of Britain, all while raising funds for a noble cause. As you read this, she is likely celebrating the completion of her remarkable adventure.

Megan is no stranger to overcoming obstacles. After facing significant challenges with her mental health and receiving a diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis, she discovered a newfound clarity and purpose through running. It was during one of her runs last year that she realized the transformative power of her passion, leading her to set the ambitious goal of completing the coastal circuit in record time.

In addition to her running challenge, Megan set out to raise £50,000 for the Samaritans, a charity that played a crucial role in her life during a difficult period between 2024 and 2025. After being diagnosed with MS in 2024, she experienced some challenging days, but the support from the Samaritans was invaluable. Reflecting on her experience, she shared, "When I was at my lowest, the Samaritans helped me keep going… Their volunteers were there for me when I needed someone most. I only wish I had picked up the phone sooner."

Despite facing gale-force winds, limited washing facilities, and the chill of a Scottish winter, Megan has persevered with incredible determination. Upon her return to Sizewell Beach in Suffolk today, she will have shattered the existing record by an astonishing 94 days. In a recent interview with the BBC, she expressed her excitement about completing this journey and the simple pleasure of taking a well-deserved break afterward. Over the course of her adventure, she has run an astounding 5,240 miles, which is equivalent to running a marathon every day for nearly seven months.

Throughout her journey, Megan has been uplifted by the generosity of strangers, friends, and a supportive community who have provided her with warm meals, places to rest, and words of encouragement.

Not only has Megan achieved her goal of becoming the fastest woman to complete the coastal path challenge, but she has also exceeded her fundraising target on Just Giving. Both Megan and the Samaritans have much to celebrate, as her efforts will undoubtedly make a positive impact on many lives.
