12-Year-Old Girl Plants 150,000 Trees, Spreading Joy and Greenery!

At just 12 years old, Prasiddhi Singh is making a remarkable impact on the environment in India, earning her the affectionate title of the "Indian Greta Thunberg." With unwavering determination and an infectious spirit, she is leading a vibrant movement aimed at transforming both the landscapes and mindsets around her.

Prasiddhi's journey began at the tender age of 8 when she received the Dal Puraskar, an esteemed Indian award recognizing her contributions. In an interview with the Times of India, she shared her inspiring accomplishments, including the establishment of 14 "fruit forests" in schools, government offices, and community spaces, all made possible through the support of countless volunteers.

Now, at the age of 12, Prasiddhi has achieved an incredible feat: planting over 150,000 trees and founding the Prasiddhi Forest Foundation. Her accomplishments also include restoring mangroves and lakes, delivering a TEDx talk, and addressing the UN Climate Change summits COP 28 and 29. Her energy and passion suggest that she is undoubtedly involved in even more exciting projects that have yet to be unveiled.

The Prasiddhi Forest Foundation is a hub of activity, offering classes, workshops, and events grounded in the inspiring "3G Network" philosophy: ‘Generate’ your own oxygen, ‘Grow’ your own food, and ‘Gift’ your efforts to the community. This initiative encourages individuals to take charge of their environmental contributions while fostering a sense of community.

Prasiddhi’s passion for tree planting was ignited at the age of 7, sparked by her response to a devastating cyclone. However, her vision of fruit forests extends far beyond merely providing shelter from storms. These biodiverse, edible landscapes serve as both ecological solutions and vital social infrastructure, attracting volunteers from across India, particularly in her home state of Tamil Nadu.

Join us in celebrating Prasiddhi Singh and her remarkable efforts to create a brighter, greener future for all. Her story is a testament to the power of youth and the positive change that can stem from a single determined heart.
