Internet Showers DoorDash Driver and Fiancé with Wedding Gifts

A DoorDash Note Inspires a Joyful Wedding Surprise

A simple thank-you note tucked inside a DoorDash order sparked a heartwarming chain of generosity in early August.

The meal had been delivered to Jen Hamilton, a TikTok creator, delivery-room nurse, nonprofit founder, and New York Times bestselling author. Inside the bag, she discovered a handwritten message from the driver.

“Your tip is helping make our wedding possible,” the note said. “It means the world to us. Hope & Tyler.”

Touched by the couple’s gratitude, Hamilton decided to do some “kindness stalking.” She found their wedding page and purchased a generous collection of gifts from their Amazon registry.

Soon, a towering assortment of packages appeared outside the couple’s home. Hope, the driver’s bride-to-be, later shared her appreciation online, saying that she and Tyler were “so grateful.”

The joyful response continued when DoorDash learned about the exchange. The company confirmed that it also sent Hope and Tyler a wedding present.

Hamilton has built much of her life around helping others. Along with writing the 2026 bestselling book Birth Vibes: Stories and Strategies for an Empowered Birth, she founded Hot Mess Express, a nonprofit that offers free home-cleaning services to parents with limited incomes. She also shares uplifting content with an audience of approximately five million TikTok followers.

This was not the first time compassion between a customer and a DoorDash driver inspired the company to join in.

Earlier in the year, a woman noticed that an elderly delivery driver had difficulty climbing the three steps leading to her front door. Hoping to give him a chance to retire, she created a GoFundMe campaign. The fundraiser ultimately brought in $940,000, while DoorDash contributed an additional $20,000.

Both stories show how one thoughtful action can encourage many more. A handwritten note, a caring customer, and a generous response came together to make a couple’s wedding celebration even brighter.
